The city of Gautier, Mississippi wants to be removed from from New York City's homeless relocation list.
Three days after our story revealed the big apple was shipping homeless people to live in places like Gautier and Gulfport.
Gautier city leaders voted Tuesday night to send a letter to the special one-time assistance program.
The program uses New York taxpayer money to give the homeless a year's worth of rent to get out of town, leaving small towns stuck to deal with the growing homeless population.
Gautier's mayor told us he didn't even know this was happening in his own backyard until NBC15 News alerted him.
In a Facebook post Wednesday morning, the city of Gautier says it learned this week the NYC program has relocated at least one person to the city.

They want to wash their hands of this problem and dump their homeless on others. Not their problem.
Liberal idiots forced us to take in millions of illegals that we have to house when we already have so many homeless.
Yeah, I know, so many of the homeless are drug addicts .... but don't be dumping them on others.
Here is a story in the NY Post about NYC dumping homeless to other cities ....
Just send them back plus some.
Its like they do with everything they create the problems and want somebody else to bail them out of it
And its never ending it just goes on and on and on and on.
Liberalism truly is a mental disorder
Globalization of Socialist/Commie Poverty.
I think it would be a good place to send illegals.
Probably be a good place to send the felons too.
A few years ago Atlanta was telling a lot of homeless they were going to be arrested or take a one way bus ride to Columbus, GA.
I believe cities that do that should be sued to where they are flat broke. They are dumping a lot of cost on smaller cities.
This happens in my town.
We get people getting off the Greyhound and then head over to our “homeless district”. All of the big cities like Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and even small towns have sent people.
Sounds like the Lords of New York see Gautier as their Australia or Caribbean Colonies of the 17th Century when the Stuart Kings shipped out the rebels to serve as slaves on the sugar plantations; and also Cromwell sending the Irish rebels there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_indentured_servants
Binghamton, NY and Broome County are loaded with NYC Homeless. The new “residents” are really messing up the area.
The cities doing that should be sued by the receiving city. They’re wanting to dump their long-term costs on other cities.
They should be immediately distinguishable from the rest of the population as they say (Gaw-ti-eh) and not the correct pronunciation (Go-shay).
I recall a story years ago about the homeless given one way tickets from Myrtle Beach to Tennessee.
That came to a screeching halt.
They need to be loaded on buses and sent back. Liberals create so much of this chaos. They need to deal with it.
So the obvious response is not strongly worded letters - it’s to hit them back where they live. If Gautier has any ne’er~do~wells in their jails they should put them on a bus to de blasio’s house...
,”I believe cities that do that should be sued to where they are flat broke. They are dumping a lot of cost on smaller cities.”
Then there are the people being bussed about to another unknown.
How do we love the people without embolding NYC to do it again?
You’re right. If they don’t know it’s Go-shay, put them back on a bus to the NYC’s mayor’s office.
Maybe a form added to the rental agreement asking if the people with money for rent, but without a job, have been helped move by any city.
That way there is a paper trail when it comes time to sue.
You have to make it to where NYC notifies the city where they are “relocating” the homeless.
I don’t remember the details but I believe Columbus, GA sued Atlanta for dumping their homeless. It was a “one way bus ticket or jail” for the homeless. I don’t believe Atlanta even provided any rental assistance.
“give the homeless a year’s worth of rent to get out of town”
What do you think someone who has not been responsible for money for a while will do with something like $10,000.00?
