Posting a five year old video and no comment why?
RE: Posting a five year old video and no comment why?
How can this be a five year video when the events are recent?
Look at the 2014 date and all the comments are 5 years old. There have been protests in HK in the past. Nothing new happening in 2019.
because the PRC has been trying to delegitimize hong kong independence for many years
There is a problem of the dating then. Although there have been protests in the past, the video shows ASSAULT ON THE HONG KONG PARLIAMENT. This has never been done before until recently.
This video is recent:

TITLE: Hong Kongs Mafia-Like Triads Are Terrifying Pro-Democracy Protesters
That is a recent video.
What I quickly saw in that video, was there was a very well-organized large group of counter protesters, who were clearly (it certainly seem to me, anyway) pro government.
But, mobsters.
Again that is just my impression.
I don’t recall seeing them before.
Ever.
Is this a new tactic by the Chinese government?
Yes it’s from 2014.
The info applies to now also. Same thing but perhaps worse today.
ChiComs have brought in thugs and commies to the HK police.
Course they’re Triads.
(relatively) new.
Although I see, that is several months ago.
Maybe this is just an isolated occurrence.
I get that the triads could be involved, though the ‘protesters’ shown, to me anyway, seem like straight up troublemakers.
Again though that seems to be non-current, in that it seems to have been several months ago now.
Geez... Here you go Rip.

Video is from the night of Nov 19, 2014 and is cited in the article. Why are you saying it never happened?
Sydney (AFP) - A Chinese spy has defected to Australia with a trove of intelligence on China's political interference operations in Hong Kong, Taiwan and elsewhere, according to a media report Saturday.
You probably should ask that this be removed from current events.
Interesting, there is a bit (starting at 4:30 on the video, which cuts to Dr. Federico Varese, from Oxford University. If I am getting that correctly?)
He notes the attacks happened away from the city center, in an area with rapidly escalating property values.
He suspects this was an instance where someone on their own, someone not acting on behalf of any of the main interest groups, not the mainlanders, not the local police, not the Triads, and not the protesters was responsible.
Smart guy, I think. That seems exactly right.
And that seemed to not happen again.
I think this was an isolated, even if very real occurrance.
Maybe a local rich person, trying to do something, on their own, then shut down later by the much bigger interests from everywhere.
Maybe. There seem to be a huge amount of people from the entire globe, involved in Hong Kong issues right now.
Or I am wrong. One of those.
:)
Makes sense.
I think Beijing hired/employed the Triads to infiltrate the proetst movement in Hong Kong, to help discredit them.
