On a more serious note, I’ve noticed several of those who favor impeachment using the argument “But Trump said nothing in his defense”(to paraphrase) as proof of his guilt. That is not how it works.
Innocence is a given. We have seen this shifting of burden of proof before. Many forgot that Mueller was not required to exonerate the President in order for innocence to be established.
