It's way more than that. Much of the media is related through blood or marriage to Democrat office holders in Washington DC. They are literally family. Also the media shape public opinion and they always shape it against anyone trying to reform Washington DC and in favor of anyone promising pie in the sky goodies of Federal money to solve problems.
The Federal spending goes through cronies and cohorts of people owning the media systems. This cartel of corruption makes money on both the Federal spending side, and the Federal borrowing side. This is why they want deficits through the roof, and spending off the scale!
I started realizing this back in 1995 when every talking head on every news program was ridiculing Republicans "Contract with America" efforts to balance the federal budget. All the media people were against balancing the budget, calling it "foolish and irresponsible."
I said to myself at the time, "it's like they are somehow making money off the federal spending!" Rational Americans do not view balancing the budget as "foolish or irresponsible." Sane Americans are in favor of it. Only loons, and those making money off of Federal spending would be against it.
The media is part of the Federal corruption cartel. Their owners are in bed with every corrupt aspect of Federal spending and influence trading to foreign countries.
And yes, they are all related in a familial way. Here's one small example. I've seen other charts that show much more extensive connections between Democrats and media people.
