According to Schiff, Trump offered a "bribe", a WH meeting, in exchange for an announcement by Ukraine that they would investigate Trump's political rivals. The announcement being sought had an estimated value of (air quotes) ONE MILLION DOLLARS (close air quotes).

Most normal people would say that is stupid. All Trump wanted was an investigation into Ukraines past meddling in US elections and obvious bribes to US figures, not just the son of the VP. Asking for that is not only reasonable but expected. But a lot of Democratic politicans are not normal people, they are America haters and some like Pelosi have gone off the deep end.
