Fiona Hill Hearing: Sharyl Attkisson Dredges up the Ukraine Story Dems Don't Want to Talk About
Townhall ^ | 11/21/2019 | Matt Vespa

The final hearing on the impeachment inquiry into President Trump is happening as we speak. Career diplomats and foreign affairs specialists Fiona Hill and David Holmes are testifying in what has been a week of hot air. We’ve had a lot of Democratic hyperbole and a lot of witnesses saying they don’t possess direct evidence of the so-called quid pro quo allegations that have been hurled at the Trump White House. It all stems from a whistleblower report that in July, President Trump threatened to withhold aid from Ukraine unless they opened a corruption probe into Hunter Biden’s position at Burisma, an energy company, despite having zero experience. Biden has been there since his father, Vice President Joe Biden, was in office. He recently left.

It’s a total clown show. Some of the witnesses, like Marie Yovanovitch, were just career diplomats who disagreed with Trump on Ukraine policy. Her testimony was a therapy session Yet, one thing that is missed in all of these proceedings is that Ukraine did collude with the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016 in a failed attempt to detail the Trump candidacy. Veteran investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson dredged this up from Politico. It’s right there in black and white:

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.

One of the strangest phenoms the last few days is those who insist Russia not Ukraine interfered in our elections, as if it's impossible to be both (?) One succinct article documents it quite well, has firsthand accounts, and has never been "discredited." https://t.co/TGFrVR1IqA— Sharyl Attkisson?????? (@SharylAttkisson) November 21, 2019

The idea that some of our top experts on Ukraine are closed minded to this info (and at least one said he was entirely unaware of it) but were making important decisions, could be considered disturbing.— Sharyl Attkisson?????? (@SharylAttkisson) November 21, 2019

Yeah, that sort of blows up disgraced ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s point that the Ukraine interference narrative was a “fictitious theory.” Then again, Andrew McCabe is a noted liar, and he lost his job because of it. Attkisson tweeted, “the idea that some of our top experts on Ukraine are closed-minded to this info (and at least one said he was entirely unaware of it) but were making important decisions, could be considered disturbing.”

Yes, but this is Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) kangaroo court, which is situated in the middle of the twilight zone.

The amount of $$$$ that Ukraine gave to the Clinton Foundation is proof of this.

No one is watching except the news media...

They will just take the quotes that hurt Trump...this is nothing new.

A bunch of these “diplomats” were looking at the Ukraine as a retirement fund.

From a 2015 article:

Between 2009 and 2013, the very period when Hillary Clinton was serving as US secretary of state, the Clinton Foundation appears to have received at least $8.6 million from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

That places Ukraine as the leading contributor among foreign donators to the Clinton Foundation.

For what it’s worth, donations to the foundation are way down since Trump won the election.

Thanks for posting this. In her opening statement, Fiona Hill said, three times, that she is non partisan.

But later, she was "shocked" at the July phone call.

To establish her "non partisan" bona fides, Jim Jordan should play the tape of Qid Pro Quo Joe bragging about dismissing the Ukrainian prosectutor and then asking her whether she is shocked at such behavior.

Tell that to the Nervous Nellies who keep showing up on these threads. With defeatists like them as friends, who needs enemies?

People talk about the need for term limits for politicians.

What's clear from these sessions is the need for term limits for the careerist personnel.

They seem to have forgotten they carry out policy, not make it.

All of these career bureaucrats worked in Hillary Clinton’s State Department and should be disqualified as they are not “unbiased” witnesses. They were all standing by in 2016 to get on the gravy train when Hillary won and instead were left in the swamp to rot in hell!

"What's clear from these sessions is the need for term limits for the careerist personnel."

At the very least, I think that more positions need to be re-classified as appointive rather than civil service. A new administration needs to be able to go deeper into the bureaucracy in order to get its policies implemented. If the department head is fighting the whole department, he's in a hopeless position.

Annoying Brit accent. They throw those vocalizations around in America hoping to intimidate stupid Americans into believing they are smarter and more honest than they are.

The UK Daily Mail has a shrieking headline about how this boob of a bureaucrat called down Trump on Russia. Not your business, sis; you are an overpaid bureaucrat who needs to be working at the local Dollar Store. To his credit, I remember when Tillerson was Secretary of State, he ordered disbanded some half-tailed crew of bureaucrats who came in to the State Dept. to meet on some policy every Friday. No one had ever convened this group or given them any direction; they just assumed that they were running policy and I’m sure it was done at taxpayer expense. This bunch needs to be thrown out, pronto, and they can take their “expertise” with them.
