Looks like members of Congress, such as Will Hurd (R-Mexico) are using an ethnically appropriate pronunciation for Kiev (apparently pronounced Keev in Ukrainian). As a Russian language student, I also know that the Russian pronunciation for Kiev is “Keev”, with the V hardened into a sort of F sound. So MAYBE everybody on the Intelligence (sic) Committee are colluding with the Russians. Thoughts?
He is close to NM but not a Rep!

Well, I don’t call mexico, meheeko. And I don’t call Germany Deutschland.
FWIW, I don’t think any country gives a dang about our pronunciation as long as our aid checks clear.
And if they do, well, they can always forgo the aid.
Let’s see what matters more to them.
