I think it was a liberal, political commentator Tim Pool, who said, you can never say you are sorry. You can never mollify the left. Whatever you do will not be enough.
I think the best handling of the Left was done by the then CEO of VW. The Left went after VW for naming a vehicle after a tribe that had owned slaves. He said, presumably in German, “They can kiss my @ss.”
Apologies are used as currency by the left, never accepted but leveraged against the sorry party by degrees.
