Senate Republicans confirmed one of President Trump’s judicial nominees to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Tuesday and will flip the federal appeals court to a majority of Republican-appointed active judges with another confirmation later this week.

It will be the third federal appeals court to be turned to a GOP-majority under the president’s promise to remake the federal judiciary with a conservative bent.

While Democrats have fun with impeachment, Trump is hard at work reshaping the federal judiciary.

That’s going to be his legacy should he win a second term.

POTUS has delivered. Despite total Democrap resistance and Ryan’s Never-Trump kneecapping.

Campaign season has been made the gift that keeps on giving. Vivid contrasts. Huge dollars wasted on RAT resistance and Deep State plots.

Bombs away. Drain the bitch.

This is the one area we must give McConnell massive credit....he as been great on judicial nominees.

He could have easily taken the Ryan tactic (well, there is nothing we can do) and just let the vacancies build up.

“Next target: The 9th Circuit Court.”

We won’t get the 9th circuit, but we will get close. A few rat judges retire, and Trump gets a second term we will close the gap even more.

It’s almost as if Trump is purposely indulging the rats with this impeachment folly so he can get things done without them.

Confirmed, 80-15: Executive Calendar #488 Barbara Lagoa to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit

12:02 PM · Nov 20, 2019

That makes TWO Federalist Society members to be confirmed to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in the last two days [Robert J. Luck and Barbara Lagoa].

“...Judge Lagoa is expected to be confirmed later this week, flipping the active amount of judges to seven GOP appointed and six Democratic....”
*************************************************
These journalists get so many things wrong. It will be 7 GOP appointed and 5 DemocRAT appointed. Both Lagoa and Luck will be replacing currently serving judges on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. There were 12 active judges on the 11th CCA before these two confirmations and there will be 12 active judges after they take their seats. The two seats they will take are currently occupied by one Clinton judge and one Bush judge and those two judges will take “senior status” once the newly appointed judges arrive.

It has been a good week for the 11th CCA. It will be an even better day when Andrew Brasher is confirmed to the 11th CCA. Brasher was confirmed earlier this year to a District Court judgeship by a 52 - 47 vote. I don’t think he got a single DemocRAT VOTE. President Trump has subsequently nominated him to the 11th CCA and that nomination is sitting in Lindsey Graham’s Judiciary Committee awaiting his hearing. He will be an outstanding Appeals Court judge and I hope Graham quickly advances his Committee hearing and vote.

And I expect he will receive no DemocRAT votes in either the Judiciary Committee or on the Senate floor. And THAT is a good thing IMHO.

Wonder why the 7th ckt has the three GOP appointed judges moved to senior status yet. Maybe the three refuse, and are actually RATS in GOP robes courtesy of the blue slip.

I hear you. The 7th has 3 GOP appointed (2 by Reagan & 1 by Bush Senior) judges who are in their 80s. They have lifetime appointments so they can choose when to retire. I don’t know, maybe they just want to “die with their boots on”.

Anyhow, I’m not worried by the 7th CCA. It sits 11 active judges and only 2 are DemocRAT appointees. Trump already has 4 appointees on that court, one of whom (Amy Coney Barrett) is a potential Trump Supreme Court nominee.

I suspect that President Trump will have the opportunity to replace those 3 older GOP judges before he leaves office.

A time of great joy and great frustration (impeachment inquiry sham). We will win through these times and emerge a stronger Nation with less corruption and a whole raft load of great judges because President Trump, Mitch & the Senate are keeping their eyes on the ball.

Judges are not “GOP” and “DNC”. They are judges. They get appointed by presidents from one of the parties, and get confirmed by a senate ruled by one of the parties.

We can call them “GOP” if a GOP president picks them, but some of the most liberal judges were picked by GOP presidents, and a lot of judges who are registered democrats get picked by GOP presidents, and some do very well anyway.

One current circuit court vacancy left. That is in the 5th Circuit, but Senator Ted Cruz is objecting to Trump's choice. I wouldn't be surprised if that nomination is withdrawn. There are two future vacancies on the 9th Circuit and one more future vacancy on the 11th.
