I think the lawyer is taking issue with Jordan claiming that Ciarmarella contacted Schiff and his staff before filing his complaint. I read the source article and that's what it implied. But I haven't heard Jordan's words directly.

However, the lawyer's response was that Ciarmarella HIRED only himself and that therefore, Jordan's claim is a lie.

Now, my issue with this is that I don't believe Jordan ever claimed that Ciarmarella HIRED Schiff or his staff. Only that they were contacted and coordinated with.

Therefore, my conclusion is that he's doing typical lawyer BS by sneaking in that little word "HIRED" in his sentence.

I'm not sure anybody disputes that Ciarmarella only HIRED the lawyer. What is in dispute is his planned coordination with the Schiff staff.
