Prior to his testimony I heard the commentators on Fox refer to his Purple Heart at least 10 times. He didn’t get the Purple Heart for Bravery, he got it because the bad guys managed to wound him. I wonder how many of the Enemy were wounded by him?
I really respect anyone wounded in combat.
But most of the people I know who have it will tell you it was dumb luck that did not denote bravery.
Unless he threw himself on a grenade or IED, or covered another soldier with his body intentionally to save them getting shot, describing a Purple Durple as a medal of valor or bravery shows newsies ignorance.
