Having spent a Career in the U.S. Army, I can say that I am disgusted with how this LTC is disgracing the uniform he wears. Every Officer in the U.S. Army has sworn an oath to obey the orders of the president of the United States and the Officers appointed over him. It is not his duty to question or second guess the President or his Senior Officers unless he believes they are in violation of the Laws of this land. We may have disagreements with their decisions, but it is our duty to carry them out and keep our disagreements to ourselves. I hope the Army expedites this guys retirement as soon as possible.

I disagree with the premise of your comment. Officers swear to the Constitution, not the President: “I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
Yes, he seems to forget who he works for and who has constitutional authority to set foreign policy.
The Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 88 - Contempt Toward Public Officials states:
“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
