Recreational marijuana sales begin Dec. 1 in Michigan

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJMN) — Michigan marijuana businesses now have a date when legal sales of recreational marijuana will start.

According to The Michigan Regulatory Agency, recreational marijuana businesses can begin selling their products on Dec. 1.

However, some businesses may not be ready by then.

“As for us, we have gotten in our recreational license, however, it does not mean we’ll be ready on the first we’re still waiting to hear back from LARA, so when they process our paperwork we’ll know more, ” says Logan Stauber, owner of The Fire Station Provisioning Center.

The Michigan Regulatory Agency says current medical marijuana businesses can transfer up to half of their inventory to the recreational market, as long as the product has been in the facility’s inventory for at least 30 days.

” For the state of Michigan it’s huge, it’s a wonderful opportunity. And really the faster they get the store selling recreational marijuana the faster that they can collect tax revenue and alleviate the black market,” continues Stauber.

“None of this is true.”

We could argue about that all day long and it’s likely neither of us would convince the other.

It doesn’t make sense for so many states to have it legal but for the federal government to still have it illegal. In a very minor way it’s like slavery.

State's rights vs. the Fed. govt.............Which one do you support?

Kinda like the abortion issue, the states should have had the right to approve or disapprove of abortion via the ballot box rather than the Feds.

“From my own observations usage is way... way up.”

According to the feds (SAMHSA) past-month marijuana use in Washington went from 18.92% in 2013-14 to 15.30% in 2016-17 (https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/NSDUHsaeShortTermCHG2015/NSDUHsaeShortTermCHG2015.htm, table 1 and https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/cbhsq-reports/NSDUHsaeSpecificStates2017B/NSDUHsaeSpecificStates2017.htm, table 106).

Should alcohol be federally banned?

They still have a HUGE black market in California and Colorado.

For export to non-legalizing states, as the title of your link explains. The fact remains that every dollar spent on legal marijuana is one less dollar in criminal hands.

My goal isn't to argue but rather to provide balance to the pro-pot propaganda floating around.

Support your assertions with evidence - the pro pot side has been winning because they have been able to do that.

Go for it. I said I won’t argue with you, but I’m certainly interested in reasoned discussions about the issue, because it’s a big one.

I’m in Oregon. There are over 10 marijuana stores within a mile and a half of my house.

I've got no problem with lots of Dims, SJWs, RINOs distorting their reality.

It will make them easier prey when SHTF...

Support your assertions with evidence - the pro pot side has been winning because they have been able to do that.

The pro-pot side (extreme leftists) has been succeeding in poisoning America because they have spent millions of dollars on propaganda designed to dupe Americans. The left tried all kinds of methods to get drugs legalized and failed. But then someone got the bright idea to label dope as "medicine" and an all out propaganda mission began to get pot legal via a "medical" propaganda effort. At the same time they worked on a strategy of getting libertarians and brain dead conservatives to sign on by labeling it as a "freedom" guaranteed under the constitution.

The propaganda was effective. Hemp this and hemp that and continues to this day with CBD oil (snake oil).

The left was highly coordinated and funded by prominent millionaires in getting this on state wide ballots. They KNEW that this would eventually lead to full legalization in those states.

In short if you are a conservative and arguing for pot legalization you are simply carrying the water of the left.

“Because that would put only the smallest of dents in cartel pot profits. Many people aren’t in a position to grow their own, or simply want to get their product ready-to-use.”

Not unlike raising your own cattle to have a hamburger.

Well, probably a little easier than that, but it appears to be a lot more complicated than planting seeds in potting soil.

More propaganda. The left wants SMOKED marijuana. It has convinced people that SMOKING POT has health benefits. That is absolute tripe. You listed some things that MAY be helpful in a medical sense (i.e. deriving use from the plant) but even then for each one of those there are MUCH more effective drugs available which is WHY pharmaceuticals don't really focus on this garbage.

And yet here we are, every day, having to read about how healthy it is to smoke pot. Keep up the propaganda.

I would like to see a legitimate report of one of these deaths caused by potheads. Do you have any citation whatsoever?

Well, I have chronic pain (I sit on my ass all day long with a heating pad on my neck and back), and I need help with my appetite (I’ve lost 40 lb in the last year, not because of HIV/AIDS, but because I have massive thickening in the folds of my stomach).

I need help. My doc doesn’t want to prescribe tramadol any more (he doesn’t want to prescribe any controlled substance), and I’m at a loss to find something to help me eat (long story).

So, I’m open to using cannabis. I’ve spent a lot of time researching it and I’m willing to try. I toked a lot for a couple of years in the early 70’s and it really messed up my grades because I was stoned all the time. I don’t ever want to be like that again, but I feel like I’m boxed into a corner.

You’re not particularly convincing. All those caps don’t help, by the way. You make claims but have not backed them up.

Are you addicted to opioids?
