It’s flummoxed me for years.
I like the skin and fat on my chicken parts. Chicken is “dry” without them IMO.
The processors must be able to make more money using chicken fat and skin somewhere else or they wouldn’t remove it.
Maybe “pot pies”... but I’ve never found out for sure.
That’s why I asked somone “in the know”...
Pet food, perhaps. Cats need a lot of fat. My girl loves her Friskies “Gravy Lovers” chicken and turkey.
