That was my first thought when Patrick announced he was thinking of getting in. This is an Obama/Holder construct. First Obama doesn’t endorse Biden, then he puts up Patrick.
It’s going to take a long time for old Joe to pull the Obama’s shiv out of his back.

That actually makes a lot more sense than most conspiracy theories. Patrick seems to be more on the same page as Obama than the other candidates. He’s also not identified with any existing group in the party, and he hasn’t completely committed on various issues so he’s still pliable and open to influences. If Holder doesn’t decide to run, it makes the theory all the more plausible. If Holder gets in, it’s less likely that Obama is behind Patrick.
