School shooting deaths in 2018: 28 students, 7 adults. In 2017: 15 people (site didn’t break down children vs. adults).
Auto deaths (including drivers, passengers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians) in 2017: about 1,800 people between 13 and 18 years of age. (I subtracted 19-year-olds, and I’m not finding stats that include children aged 5 to 12.)
On average, more children die each from school shootings than die from lightning strikes. Fwiw.
