Freepers love to act like Sessions recused himself in a vaccum. Maybe they ought to go back and look at how many Republicans in Congress called for Sessions to recuse himself. Here's a sample:

"Several Republican lawmakers had already called on Sessions to recuse himself — and some of them applauded him after he did so. Sen. Ben. Sasse (R-Neb.) called it the “right decision.”

"House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) tweeted early Thursday that “AG Sessions should clarify his testimony and recuse himself.”

"House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) shared conflicting views on Sessions during back-to-back television interviews Thursday. Asked whether Sessions should recuse himself, he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” “I think the trust of the American people — you recuse yourself in these situations, yes.”

"Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), a close friend of the former Alabama senator who introduced him at his confirmation hearing, called on the attorney general to withdraw from the Russia investigation in order to "ensure public confidence." She added in a statement that Sessions "should also clarify his statements to the Judiciary Committee."

"Republican Sen. Rob Portman also called for a recusal. “Jeff Sessions is a former colleague and a friend, but I think it would be best for him and for the country to recuse himself from the DOJ Russia probe,” the Ohio senator said in a statement.

"Meanwhile, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who last week called for a special prosecutor to investigation Russia’s election interference, said in a statement Thurssday “that we need an independent review by a credible third party and that Attorney General Sessions should recuse himself from any investigation into Russia.”

"At least eight House Republicans who are Democratic targets in 2018 are calling on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from any investigations into Russian involvement in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign as pressure mounts from both parties for him to step aside.

GOP Reps. Brian Mast (Fla.), Mike Coffman (Colo.), Martha McSally (Ariz.), Darrell Issa (Calif.), Ryan Costello (Pa.), Barbara Comstock (Va.) and Carlos Curbelo (Fla.) have all been named as targets by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). With the exception of freshman Mast, all are in districts won by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in November.

"Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-N.J.), a House Intelligence Committee member who is also on the DCCC list, also joined the calls.

"All eight have said Sessions should recuse himself from any probes the Department of Justice (DOJ) conducts related to Russia, after reports emerged that he did not disclose to Congress contact he had with the country’s ambassador during the 2016 campaign."

Thank you! Context is everything! It was an orchestrated coup from the top by Obama’s Intel/DOJ. The gravity of the situation scared me into believing they would go so far as to stop the Inauguration by any means, any. Trump was on THIN ice dealing with the Congress who would NOT have stood by him in large numbers. General Flynn has been their other target in order to stop him from his 2014 planned audit of the entire intelligence apparatus. Flynn awaits his fate at this moment. And thanks to his new lawyer Sidney Powell, the proven facts of this ongoing coup are being uncovered, not thanks to this Congress except Nunes, Grassley and a few with a spine! Sessions recusal in the end allowed this coup to play out very slowly while Americans have been educated about the State of their State.

That’s just not true. It’s widely known the GOP Senate publicly threatened POTUS not to fire Sessions after he took the advice of Obama Democrats in the DOJ ethics office and needlessly recused himself.

You have those quotes handy? Graham in particular was quite insulting and condescending of POTUS. Not that that would bother a Sessions apologist like you. One wonders if Senator Sessions 2.0 will be consulting with Obama Democrats before he supports POTUS in his second term. It seems likely he will given his track record at DOJ.
