RE: By the way, Alibaba is soon to be state-owned as a result of the CCPs recently launched effort to take over private businesses, starting with the successful ones, with the private CEOs either being retired (Alibaba, Tencent, Lenovo), jailed (Anbang), or being suicided (mysterious death in France).
OK, this is something new to me... are you trying to tell us that Jack Ma did not leave on his own accord and was “politely” told to step down?
His official stated reason for stepping down was that he wanted to focus more on charity and education ( is this just an excuse?)
> “are you trying to tell us that Jack Ma did not leave on his own accord and was politely told to step down?”
Yes, more likely threatened rather than politely told. Just like any other big and successful private companies in China, Alibaba could not have become what it is today without the party firmly behind it all those years (likewise, the CCP can also destroy a business anytime it wants). Jack Ma is a loyal member of the CCP and knew he had no choice but to cooperate.
This came from some insider information and also matches clues from Jack Ma’s own words that people had analysed. They also suspect he is now forbidden from leaving China, thats why he couldnt leave and enjoy his wealth despite having purchased an expensive property in the pristine wilderness.

A few more points on the HK protests that you had raised:
- I read that the protesters called for a citywide strike for schools and businesses on 11/11, a day they promised to paralyze traffic. And so they started blocking traffic in many areas at dawn, that led to police firing 3 live shots. Whether one agrees with the tactic or not, at least it doesnt appear to be a part of their regular strategies.
- One reason the airport was chosen as a protest site could be to avoid tear gas. As far as I know, there was never any attempt to block anything and no flight was disrupted since the protesters wouldnt be allowed anywhere near any restricted areas, although some chaos must have ensued. But shutting down the airport blaming the protests was a good strategy for the authorities.
- To believe the CIA is involved, one has to believe 1) the people making the claim are credible, and 2) the CIA is working against the Chinese communists. Dont forget the CIA and the CCP are aligned in their effort to remove the President.
- As for keeping the moral high ground and not resorting to vandalism, etc., that is all good and easy to do only when dealing with a reasonable government, not one controlled by the CCP that has done nothing so far but escalate the situation.
