This is not an isolated case or just with a particular squad, it is the norm. I have seen countless similar photos of people under arrest pinned on the ground, also facedown in many cases, with a pool of blood on the ground. I had wondered why they didn’t arrest and cuff people while standing, then I realized that must be how riot police have always done things inside China, so mainland thugs enforcing the law in Hong Kong is no longer a secret. That’s also why the government will never agree to the demand to have an independent investigation of police irregularities.
It has also been reported that the entire HK police on the front line have already been replaced by mainland riot police, paramilitary, and special police, etc, and that the CCP could be preparing a massacre, Hong Kong version, to be carried out by ‘police’ rather than the military.
