BUT
if you ignore the liberal perspective, he nevertheless provides a very good overview of the legal issues involved in the case.
Woo Hoo! Let the deportations begin.
One way or another the DACA kids will be staying.
Presuming the Court rules correctly (and, with Roberts on there, really, who the hell knows?) then DACA becomes a bargaining chip for Trump to try and get Congress to go along with reforms that he wants in our immigration law.
I wish it weren’t so, but he is Mr. Art of the Deal.
DACA never had any legal basis.
The GOP refused to sue to stop it before it got started because they wanted amnesty anyway they could get it.
And when Trump WINS this case, he should Immediately Rescind JFK’s Executive Order allowing Government Unions.
Just like the citizenship question.....Trump can do it, but not the way he is doing it.
This is procedural delay.
Even Obama said it was illegal before he didn’t do it—it was an Obama high crime and misdemeanor.
Should the Supreme Court rule Trump cannot terminate Obama’s executive order circumventing the will of congress, it should logically follow that all legislative initiatives, proposals and prospective executive orders need to first go to the Supreme Court since they have in effect and by fiat assumed the constitutional role of congress and the executive branch.
My suggestion: Don't end DACA, just rename it - Deport All Criminal Aliens (DACA). If they are not here legally, send them home. No exceptions.
I’ll wait until the Fat Lady sings.
I have yet to read that part of the Constitution that says Illegal Invaders enjoy the benefits of American Citizenship.
I guess it’s in there somewhere like the Right to Abortion and the separation of Church and State.
There should be no “let” about it. It was created by Executive Order and should end with an EO terminating program. No special rights vested.
It's still a loss. Sheesh!
