Republican Sen. Richard C. Shelby endorsed his former Alabama Senate colleague for an expected 2020 Senate bid. “I believe he will be a formidable candidate,” Shelby said Thursday.
About a year ago, Jeff Sessions was forced out of his role as attorney general by President Donald Trump. Prior to that, Sessions served in the Senate for about two decades. He was first elected in 1996.
Sessions would take on the Democratic incumbent, Doug Jones, who narrowly won a Dec. 2017 special election runoff to fill the remainder of Sessions’ Senate term.
Sen. John Kennedy, a Louisiana Republican, declined to say whether he would endorse Sessions, and said he did not discuss it with Trump at a rally the two of them attended Wednesday night.

I believe he is in early 70’s. But his age isn’t the issue. He’s gutless is his problem. I don’t trust him. But, I don’t live in Alabama. I suppose it’s better to have an R than than a D in the seat though.
Sessions was MAGA before Trump. Nobody was more pro American on illegal aliens and trade.
Right. Okay, not a great AG but Sessions was a VERY GOOD senator so he deserves to return to the senate. Hey, I STINK at basketball but at the same time I am am excellent swimmer. Think of it that way.
They’re both RINOs and need to go. Sessions will not receive my vote. Not that it matters. He has enough money to buy that seat.

Ummm - Trump never wanted Moore and Moore killed off himself...we (me included) decided to go against Trump and back Moore and we threw the seat to the dogs...

And what MAGA did Sessions deliver before Trump? Nothing. McConnell and Shelby (R-K Street) thank you for supporting their candidate.
I heard Tommy on Stewart Varney . He did not seem concerned about Sessions . He pointed out that Sessions had already failed Trump once , why would people vote for him . Tommy said he is way ahead in the polls , FWIW .

Tommy Tuberville is a complete worm. He proved it while coaching at Auburn. I am a long-time Auburn fan and I would NEVER vote for that POS!!!!!!!!!
Arnold Mooney from Shelby County is my man. He has been endorsed by Mo Brooks, Jim DeMint, Mark Levin and Rand Paul.
I will not vote for Sessions in the primary, but if he is the nominee, I would gladly take him over Doug Jones, the “cowardly caretaker junior senator from the great state of Alabama in an ill-fitting suit that looks like he just woke up.”
Good to hear that you won’t support Doug Jones. That puts you ahead of the GOP senator from the great state of Alabama and the GOPe who openly campaigned for Jones the last time he was on the ballot.
Unlike Shelby, I’ve never been a Democrat.
