Marines can carry an all-black, plain, standard or collapsible umbrella at their option during inclement weather with the service and dress uniforms, according to a new All Marine Corps message, the site reported.
Previously, only female Marines were allowed to use umbrellas while in their service or dress uniforms. They are required to carry it in their left hand so they are free to salute with their right.

Absolutely, it was it was horribly disrespectful to the Marines and the armed forces as well. Obama showed he was totally unworthy of the office.
Have they issued regulation for male purses yet?
*************
Um... the official designation is murse. Not purse.
Semper Why
I recall several British Commanders carrying umbrellas. These were fighting commanders too.
Make sure owebama carries his own.
That makes it worse. Brits are homo by default. Only a few manage to struggle and overcome it.
No word on whether lipstick and eye shadow are authorized for the troops.
I’d like it better if it came with a bayonet tip.
“So all in all, Im pretty sure what that young Marine was thinking as he stood there holding the umbrella; its a small price to pay for the chance to present a clear and present distinction between himself, and the POS at the podium.”
My choir performed at a memorial dedication where the guest of honor was Robert H. Dunlap, a MOH awarded from actions at Iwo Jima. It was misty and a Marine stood on either side of his wheelchair holding an umbrella. Afterwards, one of the younger choir members commented that he wondered how they got stuck doing that. Luckily one of my fellow baritones was an old Jarhead, and he did an excellent job of explaining that this was probably one of the proudest moments of the young Marines lives.
Must cover thy cover?
My late father, WWII Iwo Marine, one night we were watching the news and it shows a bunch of marines coming back from I think Iraq II deployment. They’re going through the airport waiting area. One of the marines is welcomed by another guy in civies (Physically he looked pretty squared away - so he was probably a marine too!). An what do you think happened that marine planted a big “Welcome-Home-From-WWII-style” wet long & I am sure plenty of tongue kiss on the guy in civies. My dad looked at me in horror like he had somehow walked through the wrong door that day and had ended up in the Twilight Zone.
And women Lieutenants in the infantry. The pansy leaders advanced under Obama, such as Mattis, were happy to let the corps slide down the memory hole.
The Army had a similar policy when I was in, we could not carry an umbrella at all while in uniform.
