President Trump will meet with Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Washington next week, ending weeks of uncertainty over whether Erdoğan would make the trip amid tensions over Syria.
Erdoğan committed to visiting Trump at the White House following a phone call between the two leaders on Wednesday.
Trump tweeted that the two discussed the situation in Syria, "the ending of hostilities with the Kurds" and the Turkish capture of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters. He added that he looked forward to welcoming Erdoğan to the White House.
Erdoğan had been expected to make the trip, but the plans were complicated by the fallout of Trump's shift in Syria policy last month.

No need. Erdogan helped create the mess in Syria, helped ISIS, gave their “refugees” shelter in northeastern Syria, used them against the Kurds in northeastern Syria, bought Syrian oil from ISIS, used ISIS and Al Queda gangs in northern Syria now, buys missiles from Russia now, and still wants to pretend to be part of NATO. Erdogan is no ally, in the Middle East or anywhere else.
Erdogan should wind up like Kashoggi...
