I use to live in rural America, same as you, town was 3 miles away. The Family ran a Large Farm Implement and Hardware Dealership.... Case, NewHolland, Gehl, Kubota etc. and also handled all terraine vehicles and chain saw businees. Very busy place and we all worked there in one form or another.

Although I was raised in town you naturally grow to love all the farmers in the area and respect the extraordinary hard work they do. Without them we’d all be in a world of hurt!

Our closest town is small, only 800 people or so. No big dealerships, businesses, stores or anything there. It does have a McDonald's at the Love's truck stop on the highway going out of town though. That's about as big as it gets in this area.

Suits me just fine. Keeps the riff riff out.
