Well, actually, despite the media narrative (and losing the governorship gives them a predicate to use while ignoring everything else), this was one of the strongest pro-Republican electorates to ever turnout in a state election in Kentucky. The down ballot was swept - and in most cases by landslide margins - including capturing the AG’s office, which has not been held by a Republican in 70 years. It has perhaps been even longer since we have held all of those down ballot offices. Bevin’s loss was personally about Bevin - he defeated himself.
