The American job market remains tight, and banks are scrambling to find people who want to work at their branches. Thats why Bank of America is raising its minimum wage to $20 an hour in 2020 a year earlier than expected.
Bank of America said Monday it would raise its minimum wage for its more than 208,000 US employees by the end of the first quarter of 2020. It previously planned to boost paychecks to $20 an hour by 2021, and made a down payment on that commitment by hiking wages to $17 an hour on May 1, 2019.

Works every time.
Fee craziest bank on God’s green earth!
I doubt anybody makes less then 20 already. I mean its only 38K. Lol. These are not entry level jobs at banks. I guess they want attention today.
BOA is not paying $20 per hour. Customer fees are paying $20 per hour.
This is nothing but virtue signalling.
MR. PRESIDENT: Please raise my taxes.
Good points. Of course they dont have to worry about contractor work. They can be paid 50 cents for all BOA cares.
They will just raise their fees on their costumers and slash their workforce to anyone who cannot be replaced by a computer or robot.
And get the left’s praise as long as they don’t support gun sales
And the people they hire must have majored in dumbest rocks on the planet. Nobody knows anything at branch level except how to take your money. I hate BOA (a Canadian company, I believe)
I was a sub-sub contractor that put computers and teller equipment in some BofA branches.
Cheap HP junk. Bare bones systems and 19 inch monitors.
That was 7 or 8 years ago.
One branch is a block away. My wife banks there for a few reasons. I had to go with her in there for some business.
Those look like the same monitors I put in.
I betcha they will not be hiring any of those “eddikashun degreed” no white man’s math cretins.
I'm betting half in that category will be let go.
And what about those in the nearby pay brackets?
Will they experience thinning of the ranks?
Or, will their wages remain stagnant for an extended period?
“Cheap HP junk”
totally true ...
It’s not Canadian. It started in San Francisco. Now headquartered NC. TD is Canadian.
The last good stuff Has Problems made were the 4000 series laser printers.
Why work for a crooked outfit like them!?
My bad! You are correct! Im so accustomed to fake news that I just did one myself! Mea culpa!
My wife and I pulled all of our money out of them recently, and I sent a letter to their CEO regarding their political activism which I despise.
I had banked with them for over 40 years and had enough of their nauseating political correctness and Leftist activism.
No response, so they weren’t concerned with losing me. Good. Hope they rot.
Bank of America began in San Francisco where it was called Bank of Italy. Started by Amadeo P. Giannini serve working class citizens of the area, especially Italian Americans living in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood. They were the first to give loans to women ‘way back in the forties.
My dad’s company banked there and they sent him a book called “Biography of a Bank.” I read it when I was 11 years old. Just fascinating. Wish I still had a copy.
I banked there for years until they got so @#$%# greedy. Now I have a very nice state bank.
Jobs for lawyers in Dallas start at $22 an hour. That's with a JD and a current bar admission. I've met attorneys with a specialized Masters pulling in $25 an hour.
