German shipowner MC-Schiffahrt reports that the freigher MarMalaita was attacked by pirates off Cameroon . . . According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, three of the abducted crewmembers are Russian nationals.

The German and Russian governments need to make sure that there are a lot of dead pirates before this is over. This has been happening weekly, and paying the pirates off is not discouraging piracy. Kill them all. No exceptions.

The German government will give the kidnappers and their families ASYLUM in Germany (or Sweden), since they face being thrown in prison if they’re returned home. The Russian government will assure that they no longer have families to return to.

I've always contended that a ship that had been attacked by pirates, would arrive in port with a few of 'em swinging from the cranes, would do wonders.

Of course there would be "world-wide outrage" but the point would have been made.
