"Thanks. Nice to know. Some of my forefathers passed through there in the 1840s headed for St Louis." Not surprising. New Orleans was second only to New York as a port of debarkation for immigrants. As a result, it developed the same structure of ethnic neighborhoods as NYC. It is amazing how much the New Orleans "Ninth Ward accent" sounds like Brooklynese.
