You’re right, they won’t go there, especially if the person is of color or a woman.
We would have easily impeached Obama, but his skin color saved him.
I think it’s more a case of the GOP not caring to support an issue than being afraid of the media. The GOP donor class agenda is not in alignment with GOP voters on immigration, trade, health care, etc., etc.
