I grew up in Peterson’s District. He a likable guy but survives only by pretending he is not really a Dem.

Remember Cunningham in South Carolina; he pretends to be moderate and votes for this garbage. Same thing for that woman in Oklahoma City. Total phonies.

I predicted Colon Peterson would fold. I think he is toast either way.

Van Drew and Peterson sound reasonable now, because they got a Golden Ticket to dissent. If re-elected they will count toward the Dim total reps and a possible following Pelosi dictatorship in 2021.

We’re in Van Drew’s district. I doubt we’ll vote for him next time, but at least he behaved honorably in this case.
IMO, this is a situation where intentions actually do matter. Without know anything about him, my guess is there was nothing "honorable" about his vote. It was probably nothing more than calculated self preservation.
I would be willing to believe that Pelosi, once she knew she had the votes, instructed them to vote nay for appearances. "See, it's not a lynching, some Dems voted against it". As if that somehow makes the whole thing legitimate.

An unknown ran against Van Drew. Lobiando retired. Van Drew is pretty well known in South Jersey politics.
