Your analysis is very good.

It would be comical if the end result of what they want wouldn’t be trillions of dollars out of our pockets. (what they really want is control over citizen’s lives and wallets, a reduction of national sovereignty with accompanying increase in global sovereignty, all coupled with de-industrialization, but they aren’t honest enough to come out and say that, so they try to scare people into thinking it is in their best interests.)

I find their odd view of trees as carbon sinks completely silly, but what is even more astonishing is their inability to see that they themselves on the Left with their environmental zealots and absurd restrictions and demands bear the greatest degree of responsibility for what we are seeing. The fact that they largely oppose the measures needed to reduce the risk of uncontrolled burns (due to their viewpoint that those measures negatively impact both the environment and the wildlife in that environment) is almost laughably ironic, given that huge amounts of pollution are being thrown into the air and the habitats of millions of creatures are being destroyed due to this viewpoint.

Dan Bongino had a very good analysis yesterday of the stupidity of this, and how they want to make PG&E out to be modern day Snidely Whiplash capitalists in top hats who are sacrificing the environment for profits, when it is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the USA, and probably the MOST heavily regulated in California. The state sets their rates, requires them to spend money on thousands of dollars to install FREE car recharging stations for wealthy Californians (instead of updating infrastructure they ALSO say is responsible for starting the fires).

See my post above. It is why they resort to fear and hysteria, because the facts aren’t on their side.

I despise these committed Leftists. All of them.

As a matter of fact, in the 1800’s, fires in California were fairly common; caused by lightening and in some cases by Indians. Climate change had nothing to do with it!

The news is all about underbrush and fire wood.

The reason is that this is about "forest management." The envirowhackos were concerned about "Spotted Owl" habitat, and the ensuing firestorm of regulations drove out the lumber industry that used to scientifically manage the forests. Further, the envirowhackos wanted to let the forest do what it normally did (only they didn't, because the forests would naturally have fires that would take care of the dead wood and underbrush). Instead, CA spent $$$ putting out these fires.

The dry grass does burn from time to time, and every year, rice farmers burn off the rice stubble from Maxwell to Willows, and the CO2 and carbon smoke from these fires piles up against Mt Diablo.
