Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran who has been with that network since it was founded in 1996, is moving to rival CBS News.
She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, CBS News said, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks, and her departure may give a new boost to recent speculation that the networks news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.
Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the networks main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
Herridges move is said to have been in the works for several weeks and is not tied to Smiths exit.

Thanks for the link. I vaguely recalled a discrimination complaint, but this provides detail. This history may have festered until she had to leave.
Ill be waiting for you to post her hard hitting, investigative CBS pieces. Just dont forget the Barf Alert. Your typical stooge response is to incoherently attack me, not my opinion of why she is leaving FOX. You want to tell me why you think shes going to CBS? Of course not, youll just post more ad hominem attacks of me. You might want to wipe the froth from your keyboard. Too funny.
“And going to CBS is better?”
Maybe CBS is wanting to become less left-wing. They’d do that if they thought it would improve their numbers.
Maybe CBS thinks that may Americans realize that they aren’t getting a complete picture of what’s going on from them.
The answer, as we are now finding out, is a simple one. James Murdoch, son of Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch, is a hardcore Liberal whose mission in life is to remove all traces of conservatism from the network. His wife, Kathryn, worked for the Clinton Foundation. Fox News will now become CNN 2.0. Any questions?
CBS offers more money, she falls for it, they tell her EXACTLY what to say and what not to say.
Daily. For several months.
I've always adored long hair on a woman.
She's one of the vanishingly few who looks stunningly beautiful in short hair. Just my opinion, YMMV.
I also appreciated her poise and rock solid coverage.
There may be more to her move to CBS than we see at this point.
That’s too bad.. she was one of the best. If she was frustrated by the emphasis on opinion programming, I’m curious why she thinks she won’t be forced into the same thing with CBS.
You don’t mind adhominen attacks when you’re the the one making them, like calling Katherine Herridge a whore. So as I said so succinctly previously, you’re no better than a progressive. You’re whining like a prog snowflake is proof thereof. Grow up moron and learn to take shit if you’re going to dish it out.
Watch a female Jekyll and Hyde right before you eyes
>>>!I also appreciated her poise and rock solid coverage. <<<
Absolutely.
Again, no reason why you think shes going to CBS. A whore sells herself in more ways than just her body. Id have more respect for her had she been on a street corner than selling her integrity, honor and reputation for fake news cash. Im done with your foolishness.
I don’t know why she’s going there, it’s really not a concern of mine but either way I’m not going to speculate like an arrogant progressive because I cannot read her mind and I’m not privy to enough facts to make an accurate determination, and neither are you. You’re just arrogant thinking you know it all.
A simple step away from CBS to John Solomon’s new media effort is a possibility. But you are right— the editors and producers will shut her down.
Maybe it’s to open a slot to bring back Megan Kelly. /s
Depends - if Fox is forcing a particular leftist viewpoint on the news staff (and Fox is now) she might harken to a place that she feels would let her work independently.
She was there all through the conservative bias from the beginning - why would she suddenly feel the need to leave because... Trump?
No idea. Just pointing out what was in the article, no opinion but we will see.
So Fox has tough commentary and not as much Fake News.
She's had a free hand to seek and report the truth.
So where will Herridge claim to benefit now...why, in the pay and benefits, that's where.
Her leaving Fox because “management has tilted to the left” makes no sense to me as a cause. Why, CBS is farther left than Fox is unless it fires everyone and hires MSNBC staff.
“give a new boost to recent speculation that the networks news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.”
The most asinine explanation for Herridge leaving.
