Former Governor Jerry Brown told Congress on Tuesday President Trump and the Republican Party were responsible for the ongoing California fires because of their opposition to drastic climate change policies.
Californias burning while the deniers make a joke out of the standards that protect us all, Brown told the House Oversight Committee. The blood is on your soul here and I hope you wake up. Because this is not politics, this is life, this is morality. This is real.
Brown was testifying against efforts by the Trump administration to rescind Californias waiver that previously allowed it to set its own emissions standards for vehicles effectively giving the state control of the entire auto industry. The administration argues that Californias policy is actually worse for the environment because higher standards make new cars which are more energy-efficient than old cars more difficult for consumers to buy.
The ongoing California wildfires have a variety of causes. The immediate cause of the Getty Fire in Los Angeles, for example, appears to be a tree branch that was blown by high winds into power lines, according to the Los Angeles Times. Critics fault California and its utility companies for spending money on complying with green initiatives rather than on burying power lines. Others also cite homeless camps, where past fires have started, and poor forestry management policies that have barred the clearing of brush that can provide fuel for wildfires.
But Brown and other Democrats have identified climate change as the cuplrit, even though there is no scientific evidence to support that claim. In 2015 and in 2017, Brown also blamed climate change for wildfires in California.

Gov Newsom is saying the same thing...blaming climate change.
This is socialism on display.
Socialists in Chicago blame other states for their murder rate.
Socialists in California blame other states for their fires.
Socialists are never to blame for anything....it is always freedom that is blamed so they can take more of it away from the people.
Democrats are incompetent when it comes to governing. In an engineering, law or medicine trade they would be hung out to dry for malpractice. As it is they somehow seem to get re-elected. Because the one thing they have perfected is something that would never enter our minds-election fraud.
Most probably, the American people, as a group being brighter and more capable than most Democrat legislators, politicians and judges, are being abused by voter fraud. The American people are NOT electing these Democrats in the numbers across the country in local, state and federal contests that finally prevail after the ballots are counted.Americans are more competent than that.
MOST Democrat election wins most probably involve voter irregularity. There just is NO reasonable statistical way by which virtually EVERY SINGLE closely contested US House race was won by a Democrat in 2018.
And we lay back and take it. Generation after generation.
Until we have a California third world mess in our back yard. Until the only way to prevail may well be the 2A route.
100%
This is akin to a wife-beater blaming his wife for his ‘needing to hit her’.
Jerry is just doing what typical politicians do, blame the other party and their leader. Remember if the typical politician had any mental capacity and talent they would of gotten a real job... .
A bigger idiot than I previously thought.....which is pretty hard to do.
I'm only 5 miles from the CA border in NV. We don't have any fires or climate change. I can almost see the 'line of demarcation' in the road! 😆
A stupid mixed metaphor from a stupid leftist lost in his slogans
Rush made a point a long time ago that still holds true today.
Liberals out of power are funny.
Liberals in power are dangerous.
Great 30 second solution :)
I was just ranting on the off chance the dipstick would see it.
Idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forest fires in CA are totally natural and have been happening for many thousands of years.
Still drinking, I see.
