Alison Lundergan Grimes couldnt seek re-election as Kentuckys secretary of state this year, but she still looms large over the race between Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry and attorney Michael G. Adams.
Henry, a Democrat who has been supportive of Grimes as shes faced allegations of overstepping her authority, has touted her work on behalf of veterans as the key reason voters should choose her on Nov. 5. She was commissioner of the state Department of Veterans Affairs under former Gov. Steve Beshear and was deputy commissioner under Gov. Matt Bevin until resigning earlier this year.
Adams, an election-law attorney who has represented Republican candidates across the nation, contends he is better equipped to clean up alleged corruption in Grimes office. He has represented Vice President Mike Pences political committee, the National Federation of Republican Women and other conservative candidates, committees and causes across the nation.

Heather French Henry is beyond unqualified to hold this office. It would be terrible to have two disastrous Secretaries of State in a row, but her name ID is off the charts as the former Miss America.
We win this only if GOP turnout is boosted. Hopefully the Trump Rally will deliver that. I wish the talk radio circuit would pay attention to the fact there are actually many elections in a number of states this year and encourage turnout - all of them could have national implications - especially Virginia as that would determine Federal redistricting and affect the House.
She’s the Communist in the race.
For a former Miss America, this is disappointing!
She’s almost ugly.
Is Kentucky a traditionally Democrat state or a Republican state?
She is trying to dodge every question pretending that she is not really a Democrat.
That's all the information that's needed. No thanks.
