Possibilities:

• Linda told Laura Ingraham that he didn't want to turn the Senate into the circus that the house has been turned into. There is some merit to that.
• Even though Senate hearings would be open and would refute some of the democrat talking points, it would still give even more air time to impeachment, instead of the nation's business.
• Unfair and baseless impeachment processes are working against the Democrats, give them enough rope to hang themselves.
• If they actually manage to pass articles of impeachment, the Senate will have their turn.

If Trump is impeached by the House, his name gets listed with Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton as the only presidents ever impeached. That’s not a good look, and even if senate doesn’t convict and he wins re-election, media and historians will always tar him as impeached, just the way they do with Andrew Johnson

Lindsey could stop a House impeachment from happening by holding hearing to expose what a sham it is But he won’t. Hes hurting Trumps ability to govern and Trumps place in history by “waiting till the House impeaches”

I haven't observed any notable or positively useful senate activity for years.
