Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed separatists have begun pulling back from a town on the front line in eastern Ukraine.
The withdrawal comes more than five years since conflict in the east began and months after Ukrainians elected a new president.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has backed in principle an agreement to bring elections to the territories controlled by the separatists amid hopes that it will eventually bring the conflict that has claimed more than 13,000 lives to an end.
But Ukrainian opponents see the deal as a "capitulation" to Russia.

It took that long but I don’t believe anyway.
There was a video from a confederate side early this month as they tried once again to make Minsk agreement work.
The idea is that in presence of international blue helmets at given time both sides are firing a white flare signaling their readiness and then moving troops and armor away.
Confederates fired their flare to no effect then radioed Ukie side who replied as they didn’t see it. That’s within visual distance on the frontline. Rebels fired another flare to the same effect. They radioed the Ukie side and said if you are blind we say we fired the flare and ready to move. The reply is we didn’t see it. Then the confederates took the English translator and grabbed the blue helmet to radio another blue helmet embedded on Ukie side. He did and the reply was that ‘they have situation’.
That is how it works since Poroshenko agreed to Steinmeier formula.
Then the shelling went from the Ukrainian side but media reported ‘the Russians’ violated truce.

You won’t hear about this from western propaganda media...but the reality in Ukraine is that the Azov neo-fascists control the streets and Pres. Zelenski can’t even get 12 militia men to stand down from the front lines in Luhansk without Azov Battalion threatening to send in 10,000 more.

I have seen it a couple days ago and now wondering how long would it take for the Nazis to have a coup to bring this loser out.
Zelensky looked incredibly weak. That’s worst I have seen from any head of state ever.
Nazi bloggers are in Berserk mode on YouTube feeling free to do everything they wish calling for revolution and killing him. They feel weakness.
I am also sceptical about disengagement for that reason. Maybe some regulars obeyed and others didn’t.
I also wonder why this interaction is not widely reported by international media, including Russian.

Blood will flow all over Ukraine sooner than later because it is not fixable peacefully at this point.
It still might be the Nazi blood but at this pace it is most likely the Nazis would be doing a killing.
Agree that Zelenski looks weak if he doesn’t remove those thugs from the front lines.
Maidan-III isn’t going to be pretty.
Numerous report of Nazis robbing crops and cattle from farmers all around Western and Central Ukraine.
Even Ukrainian media has started to report it.
Is it Putin fault again? Maybe Russian propaganda? Confederates in Donetsk aren’t doing any of this.

The proper response was not to argue with the bastards the moment they said who you are to say us what to do.
He is a commander in chief after all and it is a plain mutiny.
Had to get out and order an air strike on this unit then go back to Kiev and start a crack down on Nazis.
The problem might be he failed to clean the Nazis from the government, law enforcement is full of it. But that’s because he is doing nothing about it, only empty promises.
