We did it! Thanks to grassroots activism by Slaughter Free Milwaukee and overwhelming opposition by local residents, there we be no new slaughterhouse in the city of Milwaukee. Bye bye Strauss!https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2019/10/21/strauss-brands-rescinds-60m-plan-to-move.html
The Biz Journals reported:
Following backlash from elected officials and anti-slaughterhouse organizers, meat production company Strauss Brands says its no longer pursuing a $60 million plan to relocate its headquarters and meat processing facility along with 250 jobs to Milwaukees Century City.
It was our hope that Strauss Brands move to Milwaukees Century City neighborhood would have created jobs, provided an economic boost, and inspired other businesses to follow suit, said Randy Strauss, president and CEO of Strauss Brands, in a statement Monday. We honor and respect the opinions of the community and dont want to make our home in a place where our presence would not be seen as a benefit. We are no longer pursuing relocation to Century City.
The project is now likely headed back to the city of Franklin, where Strauss Brands already has a location.

They may have to ban tomatoes and other life forms too - I remember some crap back in the ‘50s or ‘60s where they showed that when a tomato gets pricked, there is a electrical reaction they described as being akin to pain....
Absolutely. Then they bitch that there is no work and government must feed them. Despicable
