Uh, I can't think of any reason for allowing photos of one's firearms to be presented on line. Guess the old "Mine's bigger" syndrome might kick in? Someone suggested I take pics of my guitars and post them. Uh, no. Besides which, where would I post them? On FReerepublic. That is about as much social media as I have. And, if you search for your FR handle, articles you posted or responded to just might show up in the results. As far as google photos------I know someone who takes pic with their phone and everyone of them is in google photo archive.

FR is the only social media I do.
Never post pictures of your guns, anywhere.

Most who post pictures of their weapons don’t do closeups.
And pretty much almost all of those pictures will pixel out before any details can be seen like the serial number.
Closeups of pistols with the number up are another thing.
But - posting to social media does allow somebody to add up what you have.

I quit putting firearms related stickers on my vehicles several years ago, I only discuss firearms with people I trust. In todays world, there is no worthwhile reason to draw unnecessary attention.

Ye old martial arts proverbial wisdom states that
“weapons should be felt and not seen”
And as we know many weapons developed in the long ancient history of martial arts have a history of origination from farmers tools... because that was what the peasantry had on hand to fight with.

The Gear Page. There are threads of people posting photos of their guitar rooms/man caves. I am skeptical like you, and would not advertise my holdings to strangers on the internet.

My retirement job is selling guns, so I am wearing shirts with gun company logos frequently, but usually only to and from work.
I change when I get home.
I do have the second part of my tag line on my car, so I am already drawing attention.

A friend of mine likes to fish up in Canada. And the Canadian border folks would almost always pull him over for a little chat. My friend couldnt understand why he was being singled out. Then it hit him. He had an NRA sticker on his back window.
So he removed the sticker. No more problems at the border.

“Guns are yucky.”
The image that came to mind on reading that was you, tongue firmly lodged in one cheek, sitting on a sofa stuffed with guns you reported lost in an unfortunate boating accident.
You have been duly reported to social media as yet another right wing nut case. (Move over. You are hogging the sofa!)
To: BenLurkin
They should be banned! Banned I tell ya! Nobody needs a .50 caliber to hunt them deer!
To: BenLurkin
I had some but they all fell out of my boat.
