Why doesn’t Barr and/or Trump tell the Flynn prosecutors (who, by the way, work for them) to drop the case? I don’t get why this is allowed to go on.

They must be obliged to defend just as the crummy OJ lawyers had to. It’s all about the American Constitution.

Could be any one or more of many reasons. Busy with other matters, believe the judge will do the right thing, protocol is to allow independence (in spades, in this case, which was brought by team Mueller, not by the usual DOJ) are reasons that come to mind quickly.

It would be better if team Mueller was sanctioned by a federal court, than if the goons were called off by Barr.

So much more public and believable if a US Judge finds the DOJ lawyers violated Flynn’s rights and then takes action against them.

Perp walks, confessions, and referrals to lose their licenses are much more effective than Barr stopping things.
