El Dorado County officials say a man who called 911 to report a marijuana theft was booked into jail Thursday for manslaughter.
That call led to the death of Deputy Brian Ishmael, a four-year veteran with the El Dorado County Sheriffs Office.

So ICE is prevented from interviewing an illegal alien who is in jail for murdering a law enforcement officer. Only in California.
Now, somehow it seems to me that the guilty parties are the ones who actually shot the deputies, not the one who called them in the first place.
He may be guilty of making a false report, but that seems to be about it.
This is hairy. If a woman calls 911 because she’s being knocked around, is she obligated to tell them the culprit is her Ex-boyfriend. Would their response be entirely different?
The media is playing up the fellow who made the phone call because they don’t want the headline to be:

Whether the drugs are legal or not, you cannot trust anyone that deals with drugs to tell the truth.
I have a sister-in-law who is addicted to Xanax and is an alcoholic. She can’t even distinguish the truth anymore. We can’t assume anything is true that she says until after we verify it.
For that matter, you can't trust the vast majority of people to give the full truth. ;-)
