Democrats are denying Republican lawmakers access to a trove of documents surrounding the impeachment proceeding against President Donald Trump unless they are supervised by Democratic staffers, according to a letter sent by all 21 GOP members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Led by Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Tex.), the lawmakers protested a requirement by Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the lead Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, that a Democratic staffer be present when Republicans view the classified documents.
"Your staff claims that the only way we will have access to the transcripts is in your offices, during designated hours, under the personal supervision and monitoring of a majority staffer," the letter stated.
"It is outrageous and unjustifiable to deny us those basic documents, which are critical to our ability to meaningfully prepare for and participate in this investigation," the lawmakers wrote to Schiff. "We require the same access to the same documents in the same format, as is enjoyed by you and your staff."
The documents are being stored in a secure facility known as a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). Under normal circumstances, all members of Congress are permitted to view classified documents at their will inside one of these rooms.
"I urge you to remedy this procedural injustice immediately, so that I am not forced to pursue public efforts to correct it, including by seeking a privileged vote on the House Floor," the lawmakers wrote.
Raid them.

This is what the Vatican requires to gain access and read their archives. It is beyond extreme ideology in a representative free republic.

McConnell should tell Schumer that the House Democrats are writing the template for how senate democrats will be treated.

Republicans should leak everything they read and hear. Every word. Stop playing by the “rules” when there are none. The system has been totally corrupted.
Only democrats are allowed to stuff documents in there pants. It’s in the constitution right next to abortion and the part were it says that the second amendment really doesn’t mean what the text reads.
What Impeachment proceedings? The House hasn’t voted on any.

The documents in the Vatican library are mostly of great age and historical value, and they are trying to prevent theft or damage to the documents. Remember Hillary’s buddy Sandy Berger and the documents he stole from the National Archives?

My question is why are Repulicants even sitting on the committees? Stage a walk out and tell Pelosi if she doesn’t like it, arrest them. Throw all the Republican’ts in jail. Let’s see how far they get thier puppet show moving after that. Of course that would require balls on their part.

He should go further and tell House Democrats that if impeachment goes through the House it will be considered dead on arrival in the Senate, and won’t even be given consideration.
I understand why with the Vatican, But the Dems having the same extreme rules as a major world religious order is beyond all logic.
GOP guys have to be under the supervision of a Dem.
