The ALA is, and for decades has been an extremely leftist, activist, dangerous organization.
Agreed as shown by their previous gross bias and ignorance when renaming the "Laura Ingalls Wilder Award" (presented for children's literature) to the PC "Childrens Literature Legacy Award". Change was made because her "Little House" books of the 1930s contained contemporary accounts of the later decades of the 1800s in the U.S. Midwest that the ALA deemed as deplorable. Thus a female pioneer of establishing children and young-adult books as a recognized genre gets booted by snowflakes desiring a soullessly named award.
There are a couple of retired librarians in a church group I go to - one of them has mentioned how degenerate the ALA conventions are.
