As a frequent (now retired) business traveler, I always wondered who sat before where I was in my hotel room and what were they doing?As a current frequent business traveler, I can tell you that you never want to carry a black light into your hotel room.
Also, do not use the in-room coffee makers as it is not always water that goes into the reservoir.

I always knock on the hotel room door loudly when I check in. Sometimes the front desk will give the wrong room key and I have no interest in interrupting any afternoon activities.
