Here's the working list of claims.

K-12 Math Ethnic Studies Framework

Who is a Mathematician?

Where does Power and Oppression show up in our math experiences?

How has math been used to resist and liberate people and communities of color from oppression?

In what ways does mathematical literacy impact how we think?

So many questions. So few answers.

This is cultural revolution type lunacy. These types of suggestions are not funny, they are dangerous.

Racism, being the belief that other races are inferior. I wonder what starts those kind of ideas?

ESAC?

You have to wonder if there is anything where whites will say enough? Where they will step up to protect their children and grandchildren?

I’d like to see “people and communities of color” enjoy the fruits of “disenfranchising” themselves from Western math.

Be my guest. Include all the other benefits of Western Civilization while you’re at it.

All you need to do is go into any advanced university math/engineering class and look around. You’re going to see ethnic/POC diversity everywhere.

Sounds like someone simply sucks at math and is looking for an excuse.

LOL!! What idiots!

Maybe they’re tired of people counting the number of homeless people wandering the streets? Or a daily count of street turds? If you can’t count, you can’t report.

This is for a social studies class

The actual high school math curriculum addressees the usual algebra, geometry, calculus and statistics.

math is subjective and racist
Aced all math courses I took in HS and college. All these years I thought I had some smarts. Now I know the truth. Darn.

Racist because one needs an actual functioning brain inside their cranium.

Guessing that wackos like this teach that 1 + 1 = anything you want it to be, and that there is no right answer. That will significantly improve minority test scores.

Public schools are merely extensions of our vast progressive government bureaucracy, thus, they are increasingly corrupted by money and ideology. “Education” is a motivation further down the list of their priorities

Anything to avoid the incontrovertible (and oh so unfashionable) facts of human biodiversity.

The mere fact there is something called an “ethnic studies advisory committee” is sheer lunacy. Further, they simply aren’t doing “ethnic” students a bit of good. Con artists, quacks, and charlatans. Very sad what has been done to our education system. As AG Barr pointed out, this isn’t decay, it is active sabotage.

Math is racist. White men built it.

They need to deal with it.

Or—go back to living in caves trying to create fire with sticks.

Their call.

Didn’t “Barbie” say “math is hard?” My personal opinion, math is sexist.

Of all the school subjects I would have assumed history to be racist, not math.

This senior is an emergency sub for the local district. . .you know the 6 a.m. phone call or a few hours a day (which often adds up to quite a few days a month). What education and legislators have done to mathematics is downright criminal. If I had school-age children, I would be either homeschooling or private-schooling. Have a highly intelligent nephew who has failed a few assignments and/or tests because he did not show his work the “insane” way. I think it is time that parents (who care) sue the districts for thwarting the earning potential of their children. Just sayin’!
