Leading US senators who had introduced a bill aimed at imposing sanctions on Turkey over its operation in northeast Syria will temporarily withhold legislative action in order to give diplomatic efforts a chance, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Al Jazeera on Tuesday.
After talking to President Donald Trump by telephone at midday Tuesday, Graham said senators would slow the drive in the US Senate to pass economic sanctions against Turkey to "give the administration the space".

The senate’s brilliant idea is a blatant intrusion into the executive powers as provided to the President by the Constitution.
The Constitution makes it very plain that only the president has the authority to deal with foreign governments with very few exceptions, and this matter is not one of the exceptions.

nope. graham said the Senate should reject an illegitimate House impeachment referral because it’s being held in a secret star chamber in which Trump and the House GOP are not being given the right to defend themselves and call witnesses ... he’s going to introduce a resolution in the Senate condemning the illegitimate House proceeding to set the stage for rejecting an illegitimate impeachment ...
