Nah. I see McConnell as neutral toward Trump. He’s arranged to get 100s of Trump’s judges confirmed.
He’s going to:
1) tell how to impeach legally, since they’re not following any sort of judicial process.
2) tell them if they don’t follow a judicial process he’ll ignore or reject any impeachment charge they bring.
He is the head of his party!
This is party treason or suicide .

You mistakenly assume these are rock ribbed “Trump judges.” What happened to Trump’s DNI pick? What happened to Trump’s Fed picks? Preemptively sunk by the GOP Senate.
Additionally, McConnell/Graham have allowed the blue slip tradition to continue at the district court level and Democrat obstruction continues unabated there.
I agree.
I’m glad to see some common sense posted before most of the hand wringers and bed wetters have Trump already considered impeached and out of office.
The Repubs will not stand for impeachment. It will wreck the party. The only ones too power/money hungry to see this are the Romney types. The rest know they will be voted out of office or see a rebellion on their hands.
I think you're spot on ... and that if McConnell follows through with this it can be extremely effective ahead of the upcoming election.
There's nothing any Republican -- much less any Republican senator -- can do to stop the Democrat/Left on this. But by rejecting at the door of the Senate the impeachment referral for trial from the House McConnell will, in a most effective way, demonstrate and speak about just how illegitimate, unethical and corrupt the Democrat/Left-controlled House has acted. As for screaming about what the Democrat/Left is doing it's a battle McConnell cannot win -- Leftists are the masters of histrionics and screaming ... and at destroying their chances of electoral success.
No, it's better that McConnell wait until impeachment is in his lap ... but then he must emulate the President by acting fearlessly, forcefully and decisively in defense of the Constitution and our Republic.
