Not my impression, seems more like a head hunter type to me. Also note that is, now officially, a criminal investigation and Brennan has suddenly shut his mouth.
I’m not a legal beagle, but my guess is that they hope that Trump leaves and they can let it die on the vine. If Trump is reelected, the “reviews” of the investigations will be held up until past 2024.
Durham et al could have saved themselves a lot of time and money and just bought Gregg Jarrett’s latest book, “Witch Hunt”. It has all the evidence and facts they would ever need to convict most of the Intelligence and DOJ leadership of the Obama administration of violating the Fourth Amendment rights of Trump, Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, and Paul Manafort.

It appears that the expanding scope of the Durham investigation could have the potential to become the nuclear equivalent of an air blast right over the Deep State which could end the war against Trump. But it all depends on how high up the chain of command Spygate went.
Not saying it will work out this way, but when Americans see hard evidence about how corrupt their government was at the highest levels it could be a real game changer.
Right now, Spygate is a complicated web with lots of moving parts that few can understand, but hopefully Durham has the evidence and the ability to frame it in a way that convinces the average person that their own government was illegally weaponized against a single political opponent, and it was all directed by very powerful people in trusted positions.
Most Americas will be angered and disgusted by such revelations. And they will demand accountability.

I agree with you. Obama had to know. And that is one of the main reasons why Durham’s investigation could be so impactful, if not decisive. By now we all know that Brennan, Clapper, and Comey (and others) were neck deep in the plot. But direct WH involvement has not yet been clearly established.
While Brennan did essentially confirm that his orders came from Obama, Durham still needs to prepare an airtight case against the ENTIRE cabal. That requires lots of hard evidence and/or very strong circumstantial facts to maximize the blast. When this thing detonates we want the shockwave to clear out the corruption in DC.
