Zuckerberg says he views Facebook as a series of small communities where the average Joe can speak out just as powerfully as a prominent politician.

I'll accept that he believes this, since I have no personal knowledge to the contrary.

However, I don't agree. If "average Joe" wants to have a real influence on his own environment, he needs to get off Facebook, Twitter, or Free Republic and go take action in Real Life. Attend a school board meeting or a Town Council meeting and listen. Volunteer for a neighborhood committee. Join a veterans' organization.

If "average Joe" really cares about an issue, there is almost certainly a public or private organization in his local area that would appreciate his input and assistance.

To reiterate, I'm prepared to believe that Mark Zuckerberg is sincere. I believe he is sincerely and very seriously WRONG.

Absolutely.

Changing Facistbook or anything else requires our direct action with others, about changing things very locally (in our own back yards) first.

If we can’t change our own school district, we surely can’t change city or state or fed gov’s, or social media or MSM..
