I think the US should just cancel all trade with China. They will never treat Hong Kong fair. The broke the agreements related to the hand over of Hong Kong with the UK.
China can not be trusted with any agreements. We will have to deal with them anyway in the future when they try to expand.
Growing up I was taught if you know there is going to be fight and have no way of avoiding it you should throw the first punch.
We are enabling China, giving them money via trade.
