I don't know if it is still a practice, but years ago, you had to publish marriage "bans" ... announcements designed to alert the community? that two particular people were planning on making babies.

Society USED TO police/protect itself with real time, commoon sense measures.

I guess protection is no longer a valid practice to politically correct socialist democrats.

I can remember that. You also had to have a blood test to prove you didn’t have an STD in order to obtain a marriage license.
